Bluebird Wax is a pretty amazing story – started by a man in his kitchen with next to no money but a lot of support from his friends. Luckily for him, those friends happen to have pretty big names in the snowboard biz. Ever heard of Travis Rice, Bryan Iguchi, MFM, Chad Otterstrom or Kevin Jones? Bluebird Wax was born and has gone from strength to strength. They produce fun wax which smells great and works well! The company is about love of snowboarding over making money. The riders ride for free, and the company spends most of its profits on team trips to create an annual movie. This is the kind of company you cant help but like! We are glad Bluebird is now available in Europe.
It looks like the Rome UK boys had a fair bit of fun at the Snowboard Test. Watch the video and get jealous!
We had a quick chat with Mike Steinhauser and asked him “What is Snowskating?” Here is his answer!
This is a question most snowskaters have probably been asked many times a on the slope, in the park or even around a cup of coffee. An answer could simply be that a snowskate is “the perfect combination of a snowboard and a skateboard”. However I sometimes ask myself the same fundamental question, “what is snowskating?” The answer I’m searching for is not the same answer that I quickly give to the curious outsiders; the answer I am searching for has a deeper meaning. And I think I’ve finally come close to what snowskating is, to me at least.
To me snowskating is not just another cool activity, it’s not just an alternate sport. There is really something special about about it.. My snowskate made me go to beautiful places and meet pasionate people. I am well aware that for some people snowskating is only a fad that died a couple of years after major snowboard brands introduced it to the market (about 10 years ago). But snowskating made me feel more alive and connected with nature than Snowboarding ever it. There is something really special about riding binding free. You feel in harmony with your surroundings and less invasive than on a snowboard. You learn how to take your time (progression takes time on a snowskate) and to enjoy every feature your local spot has to offer. Technique becomes key and true transcendence could be found when everything folds into place, the right speed, the perfect timing and proper landing.
Remember, simple is better!
You can ride anywhere with a snowskate (with a leash on). Go down a slope and carve hard, hit the park and shred the sliders and kickers or just go hiking with your friends and find your way up, your snowskate on your back, end enjoy your way down on an immaculate terrain.
Try it, you will feel free.

We have kindly been donated a number of board docks and board bags which we will be giving away to lucky email newsletter subscribers. If you have not already subscribed – use the sign up box to the right to sign up to our newsletter!
The Earth 2 Air board docks are a great way of showing off your prized board. They work with skateboards, longboards, snowboards, kitesurf boards and wakeboards. They are really easy to mount to the wall and come with all the necessary bits.
We also have some Earth 2 Air board bags. The Earth2air Mountainboard Bag is the perfect companion to your boarding session and is ideal for protecting your car and house from sand, mud and grass that collects on your board. It has been designed to be compact, lightweight and easily portable. It packs down into its own integrated stuff sack when not in use so it can be tucked away (or taken with you) when you’re off riding and won’t be left lying on the beach.
All you need to do is sign up to the Board Mag newsletter using the opt in box on the right hand side!
Back from the brain child of UK Tall Tees creator Ludo Canu, the third instalment of the always highly anticipated Anarski Camp held in the rad resort of Le Grand Bornand.
With skiers and snowboarders hitting the park together, from the smaller blue jumps to the biggest blacks that the park had to offer, everyone was throwing down with top freestyle coaches always ready to help out and coach to anyone who wanted it . With 7 sunny days of good park, great people and fun times this was definitely one of the best week’s you could ever have on snow. To top it all, we stayed in our amazing chalet, only a short walk from the lifts, and were served with the best grub ever 3 delicious courses by Chef Marc Bosse. Every meal was then followed with a little trip to the very friendly Green Monkey Pub for a couple of drinks.
It was really surprising to see how everyone had gelled together from day one, which made the whole camp a kind, friendly environment, perfect for just chilling out and having the best time ever. Even though the snow was lacking compared to the years before, there was still enough to have an awesome time shredding the whole mountain, especially park, with riders varying from just jamming on rails to really pushing themselves on the bigger jumps, it is a truly a fantastic place to be, especially with the park staff always on point to help reshape and let us try to make something new.
Camp organiser Ludo Canu, says that following this year’s huge success, more camps are planned for next winter. So keep an eye out for the new dates. All freestylers, regardless of level, are welcome, so if you’re looking for an action packed week of progression, fun and laughs, this will the place to be, so we hope to see you all at ANARSKI WEEK 2012
Huge Thanks to Ludo and his staff for making this all possible.
